「石榴」は小豆島の生命の形を描いた作品です

2020年小豆島・醤の郷現代美術館に何を描こうか？

作品構想のために島のいろんな場所を歩いてみることにした

オリーブで有名なこの島は

美しい瀬戸内の海に囲まれて

風が強く想像以上に険しい岩の島でした

海に沈む夕陽が見たくて

土庄町の段々畑を訪れると

畑の中腹で１本の石榴の木が目に入った

硬い皮に守られた実の中には

柔らかく赤い果肉と種が

ひしめき合うように詰まっていて

岩の島で生きる人々のように感じた

石榴の種には

海、風、オリーブ、太陽の煌めきと

この島で生きるために大切な記憶が詰まっている

「石榴」は小豆島の生命の形を描いた作品です

この作品は2021年9月にオープンした

醤の郷現代美術館のシンボルマークとして

使用されることになりました

I decided to walk various places of the island for a work design

This island that is famous for an olive

Among the seas in beautiful Seto

It was the island of the rock which wind was strong, and was steeper than expected.

I want to see setting sun sinking into the sea

When I visit the terraced fields of Tonosho-cho

The tree of one pomegranate got into eyes in the halfway up a mountain of the field

In the fruit protected to hard skin

Flesh and a species red softly

I felt that I jostled each other like the people who were clogged up, and lived in the island of the rock

To the seeds of pomegranate

Important memory is clogged up to live in the sea, wind, an olive, a solar glitter and this island

"The pomegranate" will be used as an emblem of Hishio-no-Sato Museum of Contemporary Art.
